How Does an AODD Pump Work?
An Air-Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pump uses compressed air to move two diaphragms back and forth, creating suction and discharge cycles to transfer fluid.
- Compressed air enters one side, pushing one diaphragm outward.
- Fluid is discharged through the outlet valve.
- Suction draws fluid in on the opposite side.
- Air valve switches automatically for continuous operation.
This design allows AODD pumps to self-prime, run dry, and handle abrasive or viscous fluids.
Common Applications of AODD Pumps
AODD pumps are used across a wide range of industries in Southeast Asia, where reliability and versatility are essential.
- Wastewater Treatment – Sludge transfer, dewatering, chemical dosing
- Palm Oil & Oleochemical – Handling viscous and solids-containing fluids
- Chemical Processing – Corrosive and hazardous liquids
- Food & Beverage – Hygienic transfer of liquids and semi-solids
- General Industry – Paints, coatings, adhesives, and slurry handling
