Description
Sandpiper ST1 1" Containment Duty AODD Pump Pumping Diaphragm for Metallic Pumps
Genuine Sandpiper pumping diaphragm replacement parts for compatible ST1 1" Metallic Containment Duty AODD pumps. Confirm the complete pump identification, diaphragm configuration and manufacturer part number before ordering.
The Sandpiper ST1 1" Containment Duty Pumping diaphragm is a genuine replacement process-side component for compatible Metallic AODD pumps. The Pumping diaphragm is positioned on the wet side of the sealed containment chamber and is separate from the Driver diaphragm.
Product Overview
The Sandpiper ST1 Pumping Diaphragm must be matched to the complete pump configuration. The manufacturer-listed Pumping material or component can differ from the Driver side, so the complete diaphragm/check-valve material code and exact part number should be checked before ordering.
SANDPIPER Containment Duty pumps use a two-diaphragm design with a sealed containment chamber between the Driver and Pumping diaphragms. This arrangement creates an additional barrier between the air side and wet side of the pump.
ABS Engineering supplies genuine Sandpiper replacement parts and can assist with identifying the correct diaphragm from the complete pump model number and existing manufacturer part number.
Recommended For
- ST1 Containment Duty Pumping diaphragm replacement
- Process-side wet-end maintenance
- Containment chamber inspection and servicing
- Exact manufacturer part-number replacement
- Critical spare-parts stock
Driver Diaphragm vs Pumping Diaphragm
The Pumping diaphragm is the process-fluid-side diaphragm, while the Driver diaphragm is on the air side of the containment chamber. The two diaphragms work as part of the same containment arrangement but are separate replaceable components with separate applicable part numbers.

How to Select the Correct ST1 Pumping Diaphragm
Confirm the complete ST1 pump identification before selecting a replacement pumping diaphragm. Do not select by pump size or diaphragm material alone because the applicable component depends on the manufacturer-listed pump configuration.
Confirm Pump Model
Verify that the pump is a Sandpiper ST1 1" Containment Duty AODD pump.
Confirm Pump Construction
Check that the pump construction is Metallic and verify the complete model identification.
Check the Diaphragm Code
Identify the applicable diaphragm/check-valve material code: NG, VG and GNG.
Verify Part Number
Match the required pumping diaphragm material or component to the exact manufacturer part number.
Sandpiper ST1 Pumping Diaphragm Part Numbers
Use the table below to identify the manufacturer-listed pumping diaphragm material or component for the applicable ST1 Containment Duty configuration.
| Pump Code | Pumping Diaphragm Material / Component | Manufacturer Part Number |
|---|---|---|
| NG | PTFE Pumping Diaphragm | 286.009.604 |
| VG | PTFE Pumping Diaphragm | 286.009.604 |
| GNG | PTFE Pumping Diaphragm | 286.009.604 |
Why Choose Genuine Sandpiper Pumping Diaphragms?
Genuine Sandpiper diaphragms are intended for compatible Sandpiper Containment Duty pump configurations. Matching the correct material, construction and manufacturer part number helps maintenance and purchasing teams identify the correct physical replacement component.
Correct Model Compatibility
Select the replacement diaphragm according to the applicable ST1 pump configuration.
Exact Part Identification
Use the complete manufacturer part number rather than material name alone.
Containment-Specific Selection
Keep Driver and Pumping diaphragm roles and multi-component constructions clearly identified.
Genuine Sandpiper Replacement Part
Maintain compatible pumps using genuine manufacturer replacement components.
When Should the ST1 Pumping Diaphragm Be Inspected?
Inspect the applicable diaphragm components during planned pump maintenance and whenever leak detection, abnormal pump behaviour or visible component condition indicates that diaphragm inspection is required.
- During scheduled containment wet-end maintenance
- If visual, electronic or mechanical leak detection indicates a containment event
- If process fluid is found in the containment chamber during inspection
- If visible wear, cracking, deformation or diaphragm damage is identified
- When abnormal pump performance leads to wet-end inspection
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Pumping and Driver diaphragm?
The Pumping diaphragm is on the process-fluid side of the containment chamber, while the Driver diaphragm is on the air side. They are separate replacement parts.
Which ST1 Pumping diaphragm variants are listed on this page?
The applicable selections are PTFE. Confirm the complete pump code before ordering.
Can I select the Pumping diaphragm by material alone?
No. Confirm the complete pump identification, diaphragm/check-valve material code and manufacturer part number before ordering.
Do Driver and Pumping diaphragm materials always match?
No. Some Containment Duty configurations use different Driver and Pumping materials or constructions. Follow the manufacturer-listed pump configuration rather than selecting the two sides independently.
How do I confirm the correct ST1 Pumping diaphragm part number?
Check the complete pump model number, diaphragm/check-valve material code and existing part number. If the identification is unclear, provide the pump nameplate details to ABS Engineering for verification.
